If you blocked permission earlier, reopen site settings for this domain and reset mic access. Private windows sometimes forget previous grants; treat them as a fresh install.

Hardware that behaves

Wired headsets with a boom mic remain the most reliable option. Bluetooth adds latency that hurts timing games and can drop mid-session. Built-in laptop mics work for practice, but keyboard noise and fan hum punish scores.

Surround-sound desktop setups are a frequent cause of silent recordings. Switch output to stereo, reload the page, and test a short line before a long party run.

Room and playback hygiene

Use headphones so speaker audio does not re-enter the mic.

Close noisy tabs and Discord overlays that steal focus.

Keep a consistent distance from the mic between takes.

Mute notifications that fire during recording windows.

When the game hears nothing

Confirm the correct input device in OS sound settings, then in the browser site settings. Reload once. If the embed still fails, try another Chromium browser. Document which step fixed it so the next party night starts faster.

Mobile notes

Phones can run many embeds, but holding the device while recording shakes levels. Prop the phone, use wired earbuds with a mic, and rotate to landscape when on-screen buttons shrink.

Quick test protocol

Before friends arrive: open the homepage player, record one calm line, replay it, then swap to a meme pack for one high-energy line. If both capture cleanly, the night can start. If either fails, fix hardware before opening chat mode.

Most failed voice sessions are microphone problems wearing a game-shaped costume.
